A 17-year-old boy was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Langley Saturday night, police say.

Around 8:20 p.m., police received a call that a vehicle had gone off the road and crashed near Fraser Highway and 228 Street.

The vehicle’s driver, and only passenger, was found dead by police.

Officials said a Tesla crashed through a pole, but investigators are not sure what caused the fatal accident.

The Tesla ended up on the southside of Fraser Highway.

Fraser Highway was briefly closed between 228 and 232 streets but has since been reopened.

Langley RCMP said the victim’s family has been notified.

The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service is conducting an investigation.
